Broadcasting is one of the things that people raise with me as MP for the Rhondda time and time again. I'm not sure whether that's because we're all a bit frustrated in the Rhondda about how long it has taken to get Freeview. After all we pay the same licence fee in the Valleys as they pay in Chelsea, but it feels as if we are always last on the line for new developments. It may be that people get in touch with me about broadcasting because I used to work for the BBC as Head of European Affairs. Or it may just be that TV and radio are a vital part of people's lives and everyone takes a keen interest in a subject which all too often gets ignored in politics.
So that's why I have produced this web-site - devoted to trying to foster a debate about the future of broadcasting in Wales. With S4C (and Channel 4) turning 25 and with Wales set to go fully digital by 2010, there's certainly plenty to talk about.
I'm sure everyone won't agree with what I have to say - but I hope everyone will want to contribute to the debate by writing your own comments.

PS I'm not a Welsh-speaker, but the full document is available in Welsh (just click on the "Cymraeg" download button).
